HIGH SODIUM (salt) consumption has been instrumental in the incidence of high blood pressure problems. Most western diets are overloaded with sodium – due to the high consumption of processed foods – few processed foods are devoid of sodium. Unfortunately the sodium used in processing is similar to common table salt - mineral deficient and detrimental to the human body.
SODIUM is essential to the human body – we would cease to exist without it. It is a major electrolyte regulating body fluid and transmitter of electrical impulses in the body. It is important in nerve function and muscle contraction, maintenance of the body’s water balance, efficient brain function, healthy heart condition, the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach (important for good digestion) and many other functions.
NATURAL sea salt, Himalayan salt or similar is the best source of sodium. It has not been denatured by processing and retains a wide range of essential minerals.
